Jeanine floats peacefully in a green princess dress

"Once upon a perfect night, unclouded and still, there came the face of a pale and beautiful lady. The tresses of her hair reached out to make the constellations, and the dewy vapours of her gown fell soft upon the land." —Kit Williams

The Fox and the Scare

Title inspiration from Kim Sykes on my Facebook Title/Caption Contest. Thanks, Kim, and all the others who submitted entries. I will definitely do another contest soon. There were some really great ideas that got me thinking in different ways!

Cowgirl Jeanine jumping through autumn leaves

45/52

When the going gets tough, ladies, we’ve got to tighten our belt buckles, cowgirl up, and get the job done.

A special thank you goes out to Jeanine for a) being a rockstar jump model; b) helping out behind the scenes on so many of my shoots: throwing objects, wrangling models, bringing costumes and props, holding lights, providing humor; and c) being one of my most supportive friends in photography and life. I’m so glad that I’ve inspired you to spend as much time (maybe more) than me thinking about jumping!

Jeanine on floating stairway, Angel Island

31/52

When the last ferry of the day left Angel Island last Saturday evening, what remained for the following 17 hours until the next ferry arrived in the morning were: a smattering of park rangers, determined raccoons, hoppy deer, wind-blown campers, and a photographer who had been daunted–but not defeated–by the uphill hike to campsites 1 & 2 with friends, heavy backpacks and photo gear. The 52 Project must prevail! 😉

Curious about camping on Angel Island? Here’s a recent write-up about what it’s like.
